LUKOIL AND BLOUNT JOINTLY DEVELOP OREGON OILS FOR FORESTRY AND GARDENING EQUIPMENT

{ 12/5/2018 12:00:00 AM }

LUKOIL has become a new technologic partner of Blount, which is a leading global manufacturer and marketer of replacement parts, equipment, and accessories for forest and gardening industry. LUKOIL will be manufacturing at its Russian plants a wide range of lubricants under OREGON brand, including all kinds of oils for 2-stroke and 4-stroke small engines, chain oils for petrol-powered and electric saws as well as products for lubricating chains and tires of harvesters.

“The joint project with Blount has become a new exciting challenge for us. Until recently, we produced original oils solely for automotive manufacturers. Jointly with Blount LUKOIL managed to take a fresh look at the actual problems in servicing special equipment. We have increased the concentration of synthetic base oils in OREGON products thus raising the oils’ low temperature resistance as well as increase wear and corrosion protection properties and ensuring low-smoke combustion. We hope that the future success of our Russian project will help us to develop strategic partnership with Blount on a global scale” commented LUKOIL Lubricants Company General Director Kirill Vereta.

“Blount localization in Russia is a deliberate move caused by special natural environment of forest harvesting in the country and aimed at improving of low-temperature and wear characteristics of lubricants. We’ve conducted a series of successful laboratory and field test prior to take this decision. LUKOIL base oils’ characteristics allowed us to further improve our high quality products. It is worth noting that Russian localization experience will be closely considered by Blount Group representatives in other regions of operations” said Russia-based Blount LLC sales director Denis Lunev.
