Oils for axle journals grades "Z", "L", "S", oil for axle journals LUKOIL grade "V" are made on the basis of a mixture of petroleum extracts and components of selective oils (grade "L"), with the involvement of components that have undergone hydrodewaxing (grade "V", "Z", "S"); depressant additives are allowed.

Oils for axle journals grades "Z", "L", "S", oil for axle journals LUKOIL grade "V" are intended for use in motor support bearings of traction electric motors of locomotives, as well as for lubricating journals of axial pairs and in other sliding friction units rolling stock. Sometimes they are used to lubricate friction units and some lightly loaded gearboxes of industrial equipment. Depending on the conditions of use, various brands of axial oils are used, differing in viscosity-temperature properties: grade "L" – for use in the summer; grade "Z" – for use in the winter; grade "S" – for use in winter in very cold areas; grade "V" (all-weather) – for all-weather use.
