The SPL wheel and rail contact grease is recommended for use to protect wheel pair flanges and rails from wear. The grease is ap-plied on the wheel flanges or the side edge of the rail by means of trainborne or trackside lubricating devices, as well as mobile rail lubricators.
- The grease has good adhesive properties ena-bling it to remain on the vertical surface of the wheel-rail interface.
- The grease has good anticorrosive properties making it possible to reduce the corrosive wear of the wheel-rail friction pair.
- The grease is sufficiently water-resistant, which prevents it from washing off by precipitation.
- The grease has a wide range of operating tem-peratures from minus 30 °C to plus 60 °C, al-lowing it to be used in different climatic zones.
- High tribotechnical characteristics of the grease allow reducing the wheel-rail friction pair wear and increasing its operational lifespan.
